Awesome Areas for Wedding Photos in Dublin City Centre {Pt.1}

I shoot absolutely tonnes of weddings & engagement shoots in Dublin City Centre so I thought I’d pull together a little blog series on all the best photo spots I know.
Obviously I’m going to included places that match my style, so expect to see loads of graffiti, grungy laneways and colour shutters/hoarding ^^,
Temple Bar

Drury St
Drury Street is a little pedestrianised street parallel to South Great Georges Street. It’s barely a minutes walk from Temple Bar.
I’m also including the wee streets that link it to Georges St – Fade Street, Essex Street and The Market Arcade. And Dame Lane too.
I fricking love this whole area. I love shooting in front of all the cute lil shop fronts.
The roof of the carpark opposite the Hairy Lemon is also a very handy spot if town is busy!

Liberty lane + Camden st

Camden Street & Liberty Lane are about a ten minute walk from Drury Street.
It’s a really cool area but unfortunately I don’t get to shoot here too often – while ten minutes doesn’t seem like much of a walk it definitely is if you’re wearing heels!
If you can plan include it in your photo walk or engagement shoot it is worth it!
Liberty lane is one of the best grungy graffiti lanes in the city and the front of Opium looks great too. You also have Camden row right next to it {aka the side entrance of Whelans} and there’s some really cool street art here & also some nice brick textures and a little Guinness door too.
After that you can keep walking straight and you’ll hit Montague Street {also full of graffiti} and pop out at Harcourt Street and the Iveagh Gardens {which I’ll include in Part 2!}.

Grand Canal + Brew Dog

Grand Canal Docklands are about a 25 minute walk from the city centre but it is a great area for photos and obviously super hand if your venue is in the area {Dublin Registry Office, The Mayson etc} or if you need a cool place for an engagement shoot.
If you’re coming from the Registry Office I recommend walking via Clanwilliam Terrace {past Osteria Lucio}. There’s lovely cobbled streets here and a bridge where you can get some funky light.
After that you can shoot at Grand Canal Quay {beside Irish Waterways} and you have some cool buildings & Boland Mills as a backdrop. Then you can carry on to the main square beside the Bord Gais Energy Theatre and harbour area.
There’s absolutely loads to work with here {murals, cool architecture} and then you can finish off by shooting at Brewdog {I just love the red exterior} and having a well earned pint!
